Yosemite in fall is a time of year when the hustle and bustle of summer is left behind. With a little luck from Mother Nature, the valley's big-leaf maples, black oaks, Pacific dogwoods, and other deciduous trees might put on a color show.  Join our group camp for 40 people at Hodgdon Meadow (elevation 4875 ft, 25 miles from Yosemite Valley) on October 5-8, 2018 (Friday - Monday.)  Weather typically ranges mid-70's day/ mid-40's night.  Take in a majestic valley floor to granite top hike, or relax by the meadows and river - the choice is yours!  In addition to leader led hikes of various abilities, GLS camping trips feature camaraderie round the GLS propane fire pit with campfire sing alongs, star gazing, games and the ever popular Saturday night potluck dinner.

*Registration will open at 7am on Wednesday, August 1 for GLS members.

Fine Print:  Please read the following information to make sure this trip is right for you before registering:

Cost: $50.00 per person for GLS members.  You must be a GLS member to sign up, so make sure to join or renew your membership prior to registration.  There is an additional $30/car fee to enter Yosemite Park (good for 7 days) unless you have a personal parks pass.  Please note that you can only participate with any aspects of the trip (including day hikes) if you are officially registered and staying in our group camp site.  This is necessary to support our Sierra Club trip and hike leader responsibilities.

Elevation:  Hodgdon Meadow is at 4875 feet.

Facilities:  We have reserved two group campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, flush toilets, and drinking water.  All food must be stored in the group food storage lockers in order to protect Yosemite's bears.  There are no showers in camp (there are pay showers in Yosemite Valley at Half Dome Village and Housekeeping Camp.)

Hodgdon Meadow Campground Policies:  "Tent only" sites.  Nobody is allowed to sleep in their vehicle.

Pets:  No pets are allowed.  Even emotional support or therapy animals are not permitted.  If in doubt, contact leader before signing up.

Cancellation:   Please read entire cancellation policy before registering:  Outing Registration and Cancellation Policies

Medical Information:  In the registration form, we will be asking for medical information so that our trip and hike leaders will know in advance of special medical conditions you may have, rather than learning about them in a crisis.  This information will be kept confidential.

Carpooling:  We strongly encourage carpooling.  It's the right thing to do.  There are fields in the

registration form to help you connect with others.
