The Rainbow Sierrans Backpacking Section is Back!!! We are opening the season with a single night backpacking trip to one of our local gems, the Ohlone Wilderness, where the Ohlone people lived about 5,000 years ago. There are currently 3 spaces remaining.

On Saturday we will meet at the Sunol Regional Wilderness Visitor Center. The 4.5 mile hike to Eagle's Eyrie Campground is beautiful and involves over 1,000 ft. of climbing. The campsite offers 360 degree views, water (must be treated) and porta potties. On Sunday, after a bit of exploring, we'll head back to the trailhead along the Alameda Creek, where we'll pass "Little Yosemite" one of the hidden gems in the park. Back at the Visitor’s Center, we will have the opportunity to learn more about the park, the flora, the fauna, and/or its original inhabitants, the Ohlone people.

Cost: Price per person: $12.00
