Leader First Aid Requirements and Instructions

After obtaining the required First Aid Certification, send a copy of your card/certificate and the receipt for registration fee to the Outings Chair: outings@rainbowsierrans.org and Treasurer: treasurer@rainbowsierrans.org.

New or lapsed leaders will be reimbursed AFTER they have become certified and lead 2 outings. Reimbursement up to $100.00	First time or lapsed leaders must take an in-person course. Current leaders may alternate in-person or on-line
Hikes (includes hikes while on camping trips, bike rides, single-day events	Back country: outside of 911 calling range or when you aren't sure (in/out of calling range)	Wilderness First Aid (usually every 2 years)	Current leaders will be reimbursed. New or lapsed leaders will be reimbursed AFTER they have become certified and lead 2 outings. Reimbursement up to $200.00	WFA course must be at least a 2-day, 16 hour, in-person course
Camping trips, Backpacking trips, water trips	Considered back country	Wilderness First Aid (usually every 2 years)	Current leaders will be reimbursed. New or lapsed leaders will be reimbursed AFTER they have become certified and lead 2 outings or 1 camping trip. Reimbursement up to $200.00	WFA course must be at least a 2-day, 16 hour, in-person course
