Murietta Falls, located in the Ohlone Wilderness, is approx. a 12 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail that starts at Del Valle Recreational Park on the other side of the Reservoir. We start at Sailor Camp trail which becomes Ohlone Wilderness trail with a climb of almost 1400 feet in elevation. The views of Livermore and Pleasanton are spectacular at this point. Then the trail drops off to about 600 feet to Williams Gulch. There we'll take a short break to fuel up for Burn Hill, switch backs that has a steep climb to the top of about 1500 feet elevation. The rest of the way to Murietta Falls is a gradual climb with a short descent to the Falls.
Advisable to bring sunscreen and wear at hat since most of the hike is exposed
