Matt Davis/Steep Ravine Loop - 8 miles/1.6k elevation gain

  • 10 Mar 2018
  • 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM
  • Matt Davis Trail, Stinson Beach, CA

The spring wildflowers are blooming early, there's water in the creeks and a couple of waterfalls along the route. If you like expansive vistas, a mix of sun, shade, flora and fauna, this is an excellent hike! We'll be walking at a brisk pace, so please plan to keep up.

We’ll stop for lunch at the beautiful vista outlook just outside of Pantoll. Along with the wildflowers, poison oak is also actively growing alongside the trail. Please know the plant and take precautionary measures to avoid affect.

The first half of the hike is mostly uphill, climbing approximately 1,600 feet in elevation. The second half of the hike is nearly all downhill through Steep Ravine and the tail end of the Dipsea. We’ll take a short side trail to another overlook before returning to the start of the hike in Stinson.
